This practical course will teach you how to chant in Sanskrit and will introduce you to the sound of Sanskrit.


What is the course about?

The course introduces you to the sound of Sanskrit, as pronounced since the Bronze age.

What will we cover?

Fundamentally a practical course teaching you how to chant, we will also cover the basic rules that govern one particular Vedic school (Taittiriya shakha).

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Accurately chant 2-3 santi mantras from the Taittiriya Aranyaka, and make a start on the Ganapati-atharvasirsa-upanisad.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an introductory course. No particular skill is required to attend.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Teaching will be through group chanting and individual drilling. Practice outside class will be by your choice.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No other costs. Nothing else to bring.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Join the Build Vedic chanting course, as well as Sanskrit classes from September.
