Focusing on your speech without the distractions of everyday life is invaluable. The course helped me to re-engage with previous learnt skills and techniques and it was really nice to meet other people who stammer to remind yourself that you're not alone.

As always, nothing but praise for the tutors: you are a rock and it is a great comfort that you are always there when I need support.

If you're speech has been going through a rough patch and is showing no signs of getting back on track, then this two day refresher course is the perfect answer.

It is run by two experienced, focused speech therapists and the atmosphere right from the start at 10am on the Friday was totally supportive and therapeutic. During the two days they managed to cover a wide range of stammering topics including desensitisation, voluntary stammering, block modification, pausing and speaking circles, all of which I found extremely helpful. By the start of day two, I was already feeling much less tense about my speech and speaking in a more relaxed fashion, using in-block modification for the first time and focusing on moving forward with the next sounds/words, rather than waiting for the sounds to be forced out of nowhere.

In addition, I met some lovely like minded people!

It is great knowing this two day refresher is available at the Build twice a year. Long may it continue.
