What is the course about?

Do you care about the health and wellbeing of yourself and your family? Join us to discover the positive steps you can take in order to improve your health and energy through making small changes in your diet. Find out how to create a well-balanced and enjoyable daily menu, learn easy ways to include the recommended number of portions of fruit and vegetables and gain more knowledge about food related allergies. Nutrition is a highly controversial subject and this course provides an arena for discussing current ideas on soya, antinutrients and much more. This one-day course is taught by an experienced tutor who is a qualified nutritional therapist with extensive knowledge and experience of current issues surrounding food, nutrition and health.

What will we cover?

- Examine important factors involved in a good diet
- Discover detailed reasons for the recommended number of portions of fruit and vegetables
- What role do antioxidants play in your nutrition?
- What are Acid/alkaline foods and why do you need to be able to differentiate?
- What can you eat to help overcome stress
- Clear up any confusion on antinutrients
- Examine the effects of caffeine, soya and aspartame on your well-being
- Learn more about common allergies caused by certain foods.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Obtain clarification on differing views on nutrition
- Identify factors involved in gaining a healthy diet
- Identify benefits/negative effects of a variety of foods
- Gain an insight into the use of supplements.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

The course is at an introductory level. You should be able to write lists, locate information using handouts, books, and the internet, listen and identify main points and participate in group discussions.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Through discussion, talk by tutor and group work. You will receive handouts on a variety of subjects and a reading list for further study.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The tutor was an energetic teacher and it was non-stop information right from the start, she was v helpful, would love to do a follow-up with her (happy to go over what we did too!). It covered from Anti-oxidants round to acid/alkaline foods. highly recommended!!

The course is called introduction but goes extensively through many nutritional topics. There is a room for the discussion and opportunity to ask questions. All of them are answered. Students are encouraged to plan their nutrition in a diary. Alkaline cocktail is offered for tasting. Every student receives a nice folder containing handouts.

Great, very interesting and inspiring course that combines nutritional information and its heritage and then frames it in the world of high business and what influences the way and how we assess the information we are provided with.

The course leads you down various paths but always with the ability to make your own informed choices and cross references lots of other factbases and knowledge sources.
