Description

What is the course about?

Being happy at work is something most of us aspire to, but all too often we don’t make the changes necessary, because we don't know which way to go or where to start. This course will help you understand the elements that lead to happiness at work and enable you to explore each element in relation to yourself. This will give you a better understanding of your unique offer to the world of work, and what you most want and need from your career at this stage in your life. You will be taught how to identify possible job options for you and how to assess them for suitability. You will also have the opportunity to create a motivating action plan to move your ideas forward.

What will we cover?

• The elements which lead to career happiness.
• Discovering your natural talents, skills, values, interests and passions, energisers and motivators.
• Clarifying what you want and need from work.
• Visualising your ideal work life.
• Learning how to identify possible job options for you and assess their suitability.
• Collating a creative action plan to move your ideas forward.

What will I achieve?

• Identify what make up the elements of your ideal job.
• Start using a number of techniques to start identifying and assessing possible job options for you.
• Take positive actions towards achieving happiness at work, using your creative action plan.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

No prior training, experience or skills are necessary, just a curious mind and a willingness to participate in the activities which range from pair work and group work to individual exercises.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course will be a mix of tutor input, individual paper and pen exercises, and interactive pair and group work. Students will be encouraged to share experiences and feelings in a supportive and confidential environment.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
