Do you consider yourself to have a healthy lifestyle? Do you feel confident about being in the 'driving seat' for all aspects of your's and or your family's health and wellbeing and care? If you are not sure about the answers to this question, then this course could be for you as it will help you to understand the future impact of your lifestyle choices and help you to make more informed, healthy decisions. This is an accredited course, Level 1 Certificate in Well-Being.

What is the course about?

This qualification is aimed at developing your knowledge of a variety of topics relating to personal well-being. It will also allow you to look at the impact lifestyle choices can have and support you making informed decisions, in terms healthy choices.

What will we cover?

The course will look at a variety of topics including:
Introduction to stress and stress management
Develop an awareness of mental health
Develop an awareness of substance misuse
Personal safety awareness
Introductory awareness of the importance of healthy eating and drinking for adults
Dementia awareness.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Make informed choices on lifestyle and become more aware in areas such as:

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is a level 1 course.

You should already be able to follow verbal and written instructions, express ideas clearly in writing, through
writing lists and short pieces of text, and pick out essential information from a variety of texts (including websites
and handouts). You should be prepared to discuss ideas in small groups and take part in a short speaking
exercise. There will be some homework that will include some research.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Please note, this course will be taught at Thamesreach Academy, 29 Peckham Rd SE5 8UA

You will be taught in a group using discussion, presentation, computer search, role-play, quizzes and online
videos. You can expect to have up to 10 hours a week homework.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

All materials are supplied for the course. You should bring a folder for your handouts and a pen.
