Description

What is the course about?

Listening to our bodies in a particular way and with a particular attitude can allow a deep wisdom to inform us. In this course we will explore how to cultivate and support a partnership between ourselves and this embodied wisdom.

What will we cover?

- Steps to supporting a listening partnership
- Grounding and presence
- The ‘felt sense’
- Inner directed movement.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Identify at least three qualities of presence
- Identify the experience of a ‘felt sense’ for yourself
- List the steps to supporting a listening partnership with your own knowing
- Bring yourself into a state of grounded presence.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is a practical introductory course for anyone who is open and curious to learn more about themselves.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The tutor will make short presentations, facilitate discussions and lead you through some practical exercises. You will have the opportunity to work individually, in pairs and in small groups.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Please bring a notebook and pen. All other materials are provided.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

You might be interested in the two day course 'Focusing: accessing your inner knowing' (PT510), but please be aware that it is offered within our CPD section and aimed at counsellors and other helping professionals and trainees. Other interested people are not necessarily excluded but a certain level of knowledge, skill or personal development is assumed so do read the course outline first.
