Open to experienced throwers and those who need more practice time. You will improve your technical abilities through guided tuition and repetition, as well as developing skills and confidence in construction and decoration techniques.
Build on your existing skills by exploring form and surface. Create functional or non-functional objects by throwing, cutting and later assembling different components. Intermediate level, requiring basic throwing skills.

Develop new skills in traditional ceramic decorating, including how to interpret patterns, text and drawings on a clay surface using slip-techniques, agates and textures. Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

Develop your skills on the wheel. You will have your own wheel and the opportunity to use a variety of types of clay. The course is for experienced throwers and is ideal if you wish to develop your practice further. Intermediate level, throwing skills required.

A four-day course constructing sculpture from slabs of clay. Develop analytical and making skills to building subtle, minimalist or bold complex ceramic structures. Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

A chance to use different clays with the addition of oxides, fluxing agents and natural combustible materials. Fuse found objects in the kiln, make biscuit slips and investigate the textural possibilities of glazes.

Have fun exploring the possibilities of designing small scale animal forms in clay. Slab and hand building will be taught along with tooling techniques to bring your figures to life. Some experience with clay is beneficial.

Learn a wide variety of techniques including throwing, handbuilding, decoration and glazing. Ideal for beginners to pottery or for those with some experience. Applications for this course will be reviewed at the end of June and interviews will take place on the 3rd and 5th of July 2018.
Attending two days a week, you will develop your ceramic techniques and drawing skills to build a portfolio of 2D and 3D work. Focus on the development of your personal ideas within a structure of varied projects, which could lead onto study in further and higher education. Some materials are included. Applications for this course will be reviewed at the end of June and interviews will take place on the 3rd and 5th of July 2018.
