Time: 13:30 - 17:30
Location: KS - Keeley Street
Tutors:
Lily Markiewicz

In this continuation of editing with Premiere we look at more advanced editing tools like trimming and motion properties, and turn our attention to some of the core principles that govern narrative structure.

Description

What is the course about?

Most editing is done from the keyboard, using tools that enable the editor to fine-tune the rough cut. We will take a look at these techniques and how to best use them. As all editing is also about story telling we will look at core narrative principles that guide most story constructions. These include POV constructions, parallel techniques and screen directionality.

What previous students liked most about this course: “ I loved the balance of theory and practical. It was really useful having ample practice time to work on skills and access to lily’s assistance when needed.”
“Lily is a fantastic teacher. She explained everything with incredible clarity. Whenever I had a question it was clearly answered.”
“The no-nonsense but very supportive and encouraging help given by the tutor. The course felt very comprehensive and while focussed always pointed to greater possibilities.”
“Excellent blend of practical; editing training and more theoretical ideas. Positive and warm group dynamic and atmosphere.”
