Expert advice for people with interiorised/covert stammering…

Our speech therapy department at Build often receive enquiries about a type of stammering called interiorised or covert stammering. This isn’t surprising given (as far as we know) we’re the only specialist centre offering a course uniquely for people with this type of stammering.

In 2019, Build will celebrate its centenary. When it opened in 1919, Build offered classes in lipreading for soldiers who had acquired hearing loss from shelling in the First World War. And is now launching its #HearMyLips lipreading campaign is the focus for its year.
