Do you lack basic computer skills or already have the skills but want to gain a formal qualification? We offer ECDL (European Computer Driving License) and Digital Skills Awards.

  1. Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra)

    Do you want to learn the skills you need for office work or everyday life, and gain a qualification? On this course, you will learn the core software applications required in every workplace. The course is made up of four modules: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Improving Productivity using IT. If you pass, you will receive the Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). This course is ideal if you have some working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel, but want to be confident you can use their most essential elements.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed (not self-employed) and earn less than £19,890. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your gross salary.

    Or

    b) You are either on Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment & Support Allowance (WRAG). Please bring proof of income to your assessment or enrolment.

    Or

    c) You receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit), earn less than £338 a month (individual claims) or £541 a month (household claims) and are doing the course to become employed or move into more sustainable employment.

  2. Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills

    Are you new or returning to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as pursue your studies to a higher level.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed (not self-employed) and earn less than £19,890. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU.   3. Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced)

    Do you want to know that you can work to an outstanding level in any work environment requiring an expertise in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access? Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment.

    The course fee is £1200. If you’re unable to pay this upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loans Company to help cover the course fee, repayable after the course ends. A deposit of £200 is also payable to secure your place (refundable after you complete the course).     Do you want to get a qualification in IT but not sure which is the right one for you? Do you need to build up your confidence? This course will prepare you for the ECDL level 1 or 2 course, and also for non-exam Microsoft Office courses.

This course will enable you to prepare for the word processing unit within the Level 3 ECDL Award in and take the exam when you are ready. You can achieve all the units you need for the Award by taking our follow-on courses in Spreadsheets and Presentation software. You may decide you just want to develop Level 3 word processing skills without taking the exam or wait a while. That’s fine too! Whether you do the exam or not, by the end of the course you will have exceptional proficiency in word processing and have a high level of skill and practical experience in using advanced functions and commands such as master documents, referencing, templates, styles, tables, forms, linking, mail merge, macros and automatic formatting using MS Word 2016.

  6. Digital skills award: a complete course for beginners

    Get digital! Learn all the basics of using your computer, being on-line and sending emails, and improve your digital photos and learm other digital media skillls. This course will help you both in your everyday life as well as provide you with skills employers are looking for. You will gain the BCS Award in Digital Skills (ITQ) (Entry 3).

However, you may decide you just want to develop Level 3 spreadsheet skills without taking the exam or wait a while. Tat’s fine too! Whether you do the exam or not, by the end of the course you will have exceptional proficiency in using spreadsheets and have a high level of skill and practical experience in creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets, manipulating charts, creating and using scenarios, developing templates, linking cells, worksheets and workbooks, as well as using complicated functions of various types, and using data tables and databases in MS Excel 2016.

This course will enable you to prepare for the Presentation software unit within the Level 3 ECDL Award in and take the exam when you are ready. You can achieve all the units you need for the Award by taking our other courses in Word Processing and Spreadsheet software. Yyou may decide you just want to develop Level 3 spreadsheet skills without taking the exam. And that’s fine! Whether you do the exam or not, by the end of the course you will have exceptional proficiency in using MS PowerPoint 2016 and have a high level of expertise and practical experience in creating and maintaining complex presentation designs, changing colour schemes and background effects, using drawing tools, manipulating pictures and clipart graphics, adding animation, sound and video clips, creating and editing charts and flowcharts, formatting text and creating links to other objects outside the presentation.
