We offer initial teacher training for teachers and aspiring teachers/trainers of adults, with part-time, flexible courses leading to national qualifications. We also offer CPD courses for practicing vocational teachers.
We train and develop people working in, or who want to work in a range of organisations, including adult education, community and further education, the voluntary sector, work-based learning and the public
and private sector.
The Staff Professional Development team at the Build, run a series of CPD workshops to enable both new and experienced teachers to update their professional development. Technology is an invaluable resource for supporting learners in achieving their full potential and developing their digital and wider skills. In this workshop you will share good practices in using a range of tools that give learners support, choice and flexibility for inclusive teaching and learning. These are experiential workshops with active participation from the participants.

Are you looking to develop your skills in teaching or training adults? Teacher's toolkit is a short, online course, suitable for developing general understanding of facilitating learning for adult learners or as a first entry into teacher training, also suitable if you are training in your organisation.
This course allows for flexible learning.You can cover the topics anytime anywhere, within the start and end dates. There is no attendance required. You will need to engage in approx 6-8 hours of independent online study between 24/04/17 and 17/07/17.
Teacher's Toolkit is a short online course that gives you a general understanding of how to facilitate learning for adult learners. It is suitable if you are facilitating training in your organisation. It is also useful for industry specialists, who are new to teaching, and can act as a first entry into teacher training in the Further Education and Adult and Community Learning sector.
This course allows for flexible learning. You can cover the topics anytime, anywhere. There is no attendance required. The course requires you to engage in about six to eight hours of independent online study - you will get access to the course for 8 weeks from the date of enrolment.
'Train the Trainer' is a practical weekend course designed to help you gain ideas for effective facilitation and managing groups. It is suitable if you are thinking of becoming a trainer and want to gain confidence in planning and facilitating the training, or if you are an experienced trainer and want to refresh your practice. You will leave with some tools and techniques that will ensure your training is engaging and productive for your learners. You are required to attend both days of this course.
