A thorough introduction to mindfulness for those who are new, and an opportunity to clarify and practice together for those who already have some mindfulness experience.


What is the course about?

Learn and practice a variety of mindfulness techniques both in formal meditation and in everyday life.

What will we cover?

Seated and moving meditation practice
The deeper implications and purpose of meditation and mindfulness.
Applications and implications for everyday life.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Practise a breathing meditation practice independantly.
Work with emotion and sennsations in the body.
Explore practical applications and discover and practice mindfulness techniques in every day life.
Describe signs of progress in own practice.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Suitable for thoise new to meditation and those who already have a practice, and want to deepen their experience.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Practical work, discussion, mini lecture, and suggested homework.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

loose comfortable clothing reccomended.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Any yoga, meditation, tai Chi or wellbeing course at the city lit.

The Tutor is very engaging, he introduced a number of practices clearly and succinctly with entertaining and informative supporting material that helped pave the way towards regular home practice.
