Add interactivity and animation to your website. Start with simple scripts and proceed to challenging applications: Computation and String operations, DOM manipulations, AJAX, Form validation, Content Panels and Carousels.

Knowledge required: Basic computing and experience of HTML.

What is the course about?

This hands-on JavaScript course provides an introduction to the features provided by JavaScript and its more popular library and supporting architecture and patterns. You will get the skills needed to use JavaScript in web applications and create rich client websites.

What will we cover?

• Performing Operations
• Form Validation
• Conditional Statements and the Window Object
• AJAX
• Animation
• Content Panels
• Carousel.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

You will understand the different concepts involved when developing websites using JavaScript.
This course will create a solid base for creating rich client websites.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Understanding of HTML/CSS or any other programming language.
You should have good general computing skills. You should be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor in English.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course is entirely practical. Each student will have a computer where they will be able to test and develop during the course.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

No.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Introduction to PHP/MySQL.

Very good course, with a lot of information given, in order to challenge students. All information is clearly explained. Led by a very knowledgeable tutor, who supports and encourages the students, and provides useful feedback.

I highly recommend this course to those who have a keen interest in learning javascript for either professional or personal pursuits.

The course covers a huge amount of topics and is structured in such a way that those who wish to push themselves further, are able to do so.

Taught by a wonderful, knowledgeable tutor who is able to fully understand the needs of his tutees in order to get the best out of them each week.

The course helped me to get familiar with JavaScript syntax and taught usability of different function in programming and it also helped me to stay on top of the latest standards within the industry.

It gives a good base for programming as JavaScript is one of the most commonly and widely used programming languages in the web development.
