An excellent choice of story: "La Punition" by Egyptian/French writer Andree Chedid. At 5-and-a-bit pages, just the right length. Seemed easy at first glance, but there were any number of bear traps.

We worked hard, but laughed a lot. Argued a fair bit, too.

Essential to have a good exchange of views when working collaboratively on translation.

The tutor was, as ever, supportive, but not uncritically so.
