Improve your elementary French on this lively communicative course. The emphasis is on the development of speaking and listening skills. Note: Course material is included in the fees.

What is the course about?

This course aims to strengthen your elementary knowledge of French. You will learn new structures and vocabulary around different topics so you can express yourself in everyday situations. The emphasis is on speaking and listening.

What will we cover?

Topics:gving and asking for personal information sabout yourself and others, describe your routine and leisure activities, health matters and give advice

Grammar: consolidation of the present tense, use of bsic pronouns (Y & EN), introduction of imperfect, comparatves and superlatives, negative forms.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- talk about your hobbies and routine
- express likes and dislikes
- give detailes information about people
- talk about past habits
- talk about your health and life style

- use the present tense confidently
- use the imperfect
- use comparative and superlative confidently
- use Y and EN confidently
- use basic imperative forms

Please note that the above outcomes are flexible as the pace of the lessons will depend on the achievements of the group of students.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

French 2 lower: module 1 course - suitable for those who have studied French for about a year recently or who have an equivalent knowledge of the language (A1 level).

You will also need to be able to respond to simple instructions and explanations, as well as read course documents, in English. You will need to be at ease with the use of numbers for daily activities (e.g. using money, telling the time, using the 24 hour clock, reading timetables). It would also be helpful if you had some knowledge of basic grammar terminology such as: a verb, a noun and conjugation.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The course is based on the communicative approach:

- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.

Based on Build own material (included in fees). The tutor will give you the material and access to google classroom during the first session.

French 2 lower: module 2. Please enrol as soon as possible as places cannot be guaranteed.
