What is the course about?
Sing your way to better French pronunciation, grammar and cultural knowledge with this fun workshop based on simple songs that French speakers learn as children.
What will we cover?
The workshop will involve learning to sing four “comptines” working on pronunciation and vocabulary and teasing out relevant grammar points.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
sing four simple French songs
- make sounds that sound more French
- have a better grasp of the rhythms of French language
- identify and conjugate correctly the present tense of certain verbs
- name various body parts and items of clothing in French
There may be other outcomes, depending on the needs and interests of the group of students.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Level 1 - suitable for those who have recently started studying French or have an equivalent knowledge of the language, or anyone who is interested and willing to have a go!
For further details of the specific foreign language skills required for this level, please see the languages self-assessment chart, using the link at the top of this page.
