This fascinating workshop offers complete beginners the opportunity to discover the characters of the Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet.


What is the course about?

This workshop offers complete beginners the opportunity to meet the characters of the Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet and enable them both to read words printed in the language as well as handwrite their own name and simple words and phrases.

What will we cover?

Using an interactive approach, the course is designed so that learners will encounter the names of familiar and less familiar people, places and events in Russian history, learning key facts about them en route and enhancing their overall knowledge of the nation and its culture.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- Read words printed in Cyrillic
- Handwrite their own name in Cyrillic
- Handwritesimple words and phrases in Cyrillic
- Key fact about Russian culture.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is aimed to completely beginners. No previous knowledge of the language is required.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Communicative, functional approach with pair and group work.

- Russian 1: module 1 in September or January.
