  7. Laser-cutting and woodcut for relief printmaking

  12. Hands-on art history: Dutch painting from Rubens to Rembrandt

    Rubens pioneered a vibrant, light-filled method of oil painting which influenced many artists who followed him such as Van Dyck, Rembrandt and the English painter Gainsborough. This course will examine the technique of Rubens and his followers layer by layer, from initial underpainting to the final fleshing out of figures. Students will acquire new methods of oil painting to achieve Old Master effects in their own work.
