Have fun exploring the possibilities of designing small scale animal forms in clay. Slab and hand building will be taught along with tooling techniques to bring your figures to life. Some experience with clay is beneficial.

Designed for people with previous experience in ceramics or other art-related practice, this course encourages your development in a broad-based programme of ceramic study. You’ll have the opportunity to exhibit at the New Designers show at the Business Design Centre in Islington and an external venue for your final exhibition.

The second round of advisory interviews take place in June 2017. You’ll need to bring a portfolio of 2D and 3D/clay work alongside your sketchbooks. During the interview you will be asked write a short paragraph to demonstrate your writing skills and to show your understanding of the use of numbers. Workshop in ceramics alongside students on 'Build ceramics'. Applications for this course will be reviewed on 29th June 2017 and interviews will take place on the 11th and 14th of July 2017. We will continue to accept applications after this date.
Learn how to convert scanned images, photos or artwork made within Photoshop into ceramic transfers, and apply them to plates, cups etc. Work will be kiln fired. We will cover the entire design process from start to finish.
