Build celebrates 'good with outstanding features' by Ofsted

Story added 24th Jan 2017

Following our OFSTED inspection in December 2016, we are delighted to announce that Build has been rated as a 'good provider with outstanding features'. The report celebrates important categories including: personal development; quality of teaching; learning and assessment; outcomes for learners and adult learning programmes.

The Inspector’s findings include that students develop excellent skills for employment including very good technical, vocational and language skills and that student's work is of an exceptionally high standard, many exhibit and sell their work through galleries and retail outlets. Excellent partnerships with local employers, community leaders and specialist organisations enable vulnerable learners to benefit from learning that enhances their lives and mental wellbeing.

The report highlighted that the proportion of learners who achieve GCSE A* to C grades in English and mathematics at Build is high.

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff and we would like to thank everyone across the wider Build community for their hard work and continued support that helped us achieve this positive result.

We have done exceptionally well against very tough criteria. We are going from strength to strength, which is borne out by the very positive comments in the report and, of course, we will work hard to address those few areas that have been highlighted for improvement.
